Thank you for the countless hours that you spent making phone calls, knocking on doors, and supporting our campaign. Thank you for hosting events and showing up to give your support to this campaign. And thank you for donating your hard earned money so that we could get our message out more widely across the 74th district. We’ve only just begun.
Republicans have rigged the maps to win a stranglehold on our legislature. Tony Evers won reelection by over 90,000 votes, while republicans increased their majority in both the state senate and assembly. This is a cheat-to-win strategy that is a desecration of Americans’ deeply held belief in fairness, and the very idea of democratic representation.
The new maps in place for this election made it an uphill battle to hold onto the 74th, it's not the same district that the Democrats have held for the past 35 years. The race for the 74th was one of the closest in the state- only two other seats were decided by a smaller margin. On November 5th, 2024 we’ll have a chance to take back the seat for the 74th Assembly District, and you’d better believe that I’ll be fighting alongside you to make that happen.
But first there is other work to be done. In order to protect the rights of Wisconsin residents and demand and end to this rigged system, we need to flip a Wisconsin Supreme Court seat on April 4th, 2023 to gain a 4-3 majority This race presents a clear opportunity to demonstrate that progressives in Wisconsin demand accountability. We need to rally behind the candidate who emerges from the primary to defeat Dan Kelly, a conservative Walker appointee who served for four years before being defeated in 2020.
We’re all in this together, the silenced majority in this district and state, and we’ll keep working to build the world we want to live in.
